Raising aspirations through IAG

Congratulations to Youth Connexions Hertfordshire for organising a successful conference for local education and training providers this week. The theme was ‘Raising Aspirations through IAG’. Speakers, workshop presenters and participants emphasised the importance of closing the achievement gap and raising aspirations for all. They challenged the notion that young people, especially from disadvantaged groups, lack aspirations. The problem is that too many young people and their families do not have the wherewithal or support to achieve their aspirations. This is where high quality careers and work-related education and IAG provided by career development professionals working in partnership with business really can make a difference.
