The Careers & Enterprise Company has published its latest 'State of the Nation' report (Downlaod summary here) which shows that schools which have engaged with Compass for the second time are making modest progress in working towards the achievement of the Gatsby benchmarks. This report was published in time for the scrutiny of the work of the Careers & Enteprrise Company by the HoC Education Select Committee. In a speech on 4th December, The Chair of the Committee, Robert Halfon MP, called for the creation of an all-age National Skills Service to end the confusion for students, parents and employers. He argues that a new service is needed to achieve better value for money and improve social justice.
