Paul Chubb honoured for his careers work by the Queen

Congratulations to Paul Chubb who has been awarded an MBE in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours List for his services to careers education and guidance.

He is currently the driving force behind the scheme to nationally validate England’s CEIAG quality awards in his role as Director of the Quality in Careers Standard and organising secretary for the consortium. At a time when national policy has wavered uncertainly about whether or not to pursue a strategy for assuring quality in careers education and guidance in England, Paul has kept the pressure up on government.

Stern criticism of the Coalition government’s shortcomings in this policy area has not proved a barrier to an award being offered. Strong support for the nomination from professionals in the field cannot have failed to impress the honours committee. For over 11 years, Paul was Executive Director of Careers England and overlapping with that role he was Chief Executive of the Guidance Enterprises Group alongside his other business interests. He is particularly proud of his role as Chair of Governors of the Dales School for young people with severe and complex learning needs.
