As Year 8/9s prepare to make their option choices, we look at how to help young people make career enhancing decisions. We look at the ten best studies of decision-making and have created five activities you can use in the classroom. We have also produced for you a summary of Ofsted's 'Getting Ready for Work' which came out at the end of last year.

Progression for Success: North Yorkshire Career Guidance Project
20 schools each received £2745 and support from the local enterprise partnership for 15 months to try and achieve or exceed the Gatsby benchmarks.. The evaluation report shows that the impact of the project was overwhelmingly positive but progress  on each of the benchmarks was patchy and no school exceeded all eight benchmarks.
